From the very beginning of
the quest for freedom the advice given from every Seer, Saint,
Oracle, and Shaman has always been the same. Every culture that
has had a tradition of wisdom, no matter where or when, has
in their own words given the same advice. That advice distills
down to "Know ThySelf".
We can interpret these words
in many ways. For example, we could think they are meant in
some limited way, as in to only know the Unmanifest aspect of
ourselves. But we are multi-dimensional beings, and no limitations

means discovery of our Unmanifest Self, plus our eight-fold manifest
self. We manifest the eight-fold dimensions of our self as: our spiritual-self,
our desire-self, our dharmic-self, our career-self, our play-self,
our relating-self, our mental-self, and our physical-self. Whether
conscious of it or not, we have very specific and different tendencies
that manifest in these eight different areas of our life. When we
know consciously what these specific tendencies are, then we can take
full advantage of their inherent strengths and avoid getting stuck
in their inherent weaknesses. When we consciously know our archetypal
blueprint this knowledge produces a richer life filled with the full
functioning capacity of our Whole-Self. "Completely Knowing ThySelf"
means living a life of rich variety, free from the blind suffering
created by being unconscious of our inherent tendencies.
The mind has a tendency to reduce
things to a kind of two-dimensional black and white simplicity, but
life is much richer and more diverse than that. If we want to experience
the richness of life then we must do our best to know life's multi-dimensionality
through coming to know ourselves in our entirety, manifest and unmanifest.
This gives us the real freedom of choice we deserve and releases us
from all forms of suffering.
